#7 CROP TEES AND HIGH-WAIST PANTS
    Date / Time : Saturday, November 13, 2010 / 6:30 AM
Ohmygosh, the year is ending and my last post was in june? Yack.
Anyway, long long post to make up for it!

Let's see, this post is going to be about shopping again! And this time, the new place is D'orrie! It was on some lazy sunday when Ennen, Rebe and i found this fabulous shop by chance. While walking down the street leading to Starbucks, we took the longer route as Rebe wanted to drop by the postbox for her letter, and we saw IT! D'orrie is this rather funny-looking store on the outside, with its huge, dramatic posters of movies like Moulin Rouge, Marie Antoinette etc. In store, we got another shock at how abstract the interior was, we saw old Barney tags in one corner, and a cupboard of Transformers figurines on the other. We weren't exactly impressed but we still ventured further in when we were greeted by a friendly looking lady. She noticed our expressions, and gladly explained that it was the owner's wish to decorate the shop with things she loved. She also added on that everything here was designed and inspired from the things she loved.

And, the clothes were wonderfully perfect. Due to the owner's obsession over ribbons, we had a corner specially dedicated to such apparels. Anything, you name it. Things that caught my eye and which i bought, includes a cute gold ribbon charm, a crop tee with a pink bow attached, and a denim pair of ribbon paper shorts. Vintage items occupied a huge corner of the shop, much to Rebe's delight ;) She also managed to find the ASOS bronze wheel earrings she misplaced the other day. Ennen didn't leave empty-handed too, she got a pair of teal high-waist shorts ;) Of course, we left the shop feeling absolutely satisfied and ready for Starbucks :)

Just a small shopping trip before we had to fully work on the upcoming tests. I felt really really confident for environmental studies, as Ms Ortiz has been the most amazing teacher ever. And something sweet happened! We found out that Ms Ortiz was dating Dallia's eldest brother, Douglas! And they have also been working together on a new environmental project to reduce carbon emissions, cool ;)

And how could i not mention this? While hanging out with Rebe, Dallia, Ennen and her elder sister, Eleste, we were approached by a model talent agent! Apparently, he felt that Eleste has what it takes to be a model. And this belief is definitely not based on thin air. Eleste is tall and has sharp facial features, like her hollow brown eyes, and high cheekbones. It was no wonder that she was spotted. While the agent passed us his name card, and continued about how Eleste would do great in the modeling agency, i looked over at the card and gasped. Seventeen. Now this was absolutely high-profile and no joke. Eleste was on her way to the cover of Seventeen! When the agent left, i informed the others, and Eleste became slightly light-headed. Of course, i wouldn't be breathing anymore if i were in her shoes. Then again, a self-note: I could never make it with my dull asian features. Nonetheless, i was equally thrilled at the news and we promised to tag along for her auditions. A week or so later, Eleste received a phone call that she was due for the audition on 1st December. They were choosing around 8 models out of those who were scouted to do a photoshoot for the Christmas season. Three lucky ones were also to be given a two-year contract with the mag and do an advertisement for the new Guess winter clogs. It was all too unbelievable and i could barely wait for December to arrive.

And not forgetting, HALLOWEEN! This spooky occasion was celebrated at my parents' cottage house down the road with Rebe, Dallia, Ennen, Maycee and Ashley ;) And all of us were dressed to scare, in a literal sense. I was dressed as a corpse bride, in this old almost yellow bridal dress i picked up in the local departmental store, along with my black lips and dracula teeth, my hair was purposely frizzed up to serve the purpose. Rebe never fails to look cute in everything she wears, and in this occasion, she was dressed as a fallen fairy. She wore a black gothic sleeveless dress with lacey frills at the bottom and ended it off with a pair of knee high black corset-like boots. And on her head, a broken halo. Dallia was a vampire, yes, undoubtedly inspired from her craze over the Vampire Diaries, but she still looked pretty cool in a black and red collared long-sleeved short dress, her fangs and her thick black make-up. Ennen, as a pirate, was the most evil-looking of us all. In her ripped long-sleeved black shirt, and even more ripped black baggy jeans, she adorned herself with heavy metal chains and grey patchwork and nautical stripes high socks. Not forgetting, the eye patch over her left eye and a cool brown pirate hat. Maycee, who surprisingly agreed to join in this event this year, although she claimed that she still had chores, allowed us to dress her up simply with a witch robe and a witch hat from the basement. Some make-up and dark lips did the trick though. Ashley came in a simple orange and black striped tube dress and sheer leggings. She pulled this outfit off with her devil horns headband, cute!

We hung out for a bit, and went trick-or-treat door by door after that. It was definitely a fun night, with some residents even going to the extent of getting a coffin at their backyard as part of the deco. And of course, we saw some Frankensteins and some Harry Potters, and other weird but good get-ups. We enjoyed a great meal back home, thanks to Maycee, her pumpkin cakes are awesome! And yes, Halloween ended quite simply after that.

    That's all for now!
